The Unterschleißheim author Michael Kothe is again part of an anthology.

"Stories-Bowle" is aimed at people in difficult circumstances.

The team around the

Unterschleißheim author Michael Kothe

has chosen a very special circle of readers.

The

book "Stories-Bowle"

is aimed at people in

difficult situations

.

The project was launched in 2020 by the

nurse Maria Donner and the author Sabine Reifenstahl.

Michael Kothe: From story writer to co-editor

As part of a story competition, amateur authors were asked to write stories that inspire courage.

Maria Donner knows the need for life-affirming examples as a way out of bad or seemingly hopeless situations - regardless of whether they are real or fictitious.

As a sensitive author, Sabine Reifenstahl places social fringe groups at the literary center of her works.

When the entries exceeded 140, support was called for.

The Unterschleißheim resident was not only asked for a contribution, which ultimately turned into five, but was also invited to evaluate the contributions.

Proofreading and editing were added later, and finally Kothe became co-editor.

"Now I've worked through almost all facets of literature," comments Schleissheimer, who not only writes but also reads a lot and bases his reviews on his analyses.

And he is particularly pleased that within a few weeks his own crime novel "Roman with Death" and now also the heart project "Story Bowl" have appeared on the book market.

Michael Kothe: The book is dedicated to people in difficult circumstances

"An idea resulted in a collection of stories - as tasteful and versatile as a punch.

Sorted according to reading time, the articles are intended to take people in special situations out of everyday life and make them feel good.

The protagonists touch the rainbow, save a small dog, visit the fair, remember the love they have lost, meet a new one... Whether thoughtful, funny or imaginative, the authors always guarantee an optimistic ending.

With their 41 stories, they want to give joy and wish good entertainment.”

The blurb aptly describes the book as a successful bundle of stories in which people overcome their difficult fate.

The spectrum ranges from grief to illness, disability and loneliness, to memories of better times or childhood love, to exclusion due to sexual orientation.

Drawing on Donner's many years of caregiving experience and her knowledge of the need for encouragement, the book has been given a structure that helps in story picking.

Michael Kothe: Over 30 authors are involved

Arranged according to the length of reading time, each contains an introductory description of the content, the mood conveyed and the level of difficulty for comprehension.

The "Story Bowl" is intended as a book to read aloud to adults, for example in care facilities or home care.

But reading it yourself also helps to gain courage and confidence in a spiritual low.

Kothe brings up another welcome aspect: “Reading your name printed in a book is an incentive for young authors to persevere and continue to work on themselves and their writing.” After all, he too had initial success as a writer with short stories for writing competitions.

"Without a longer list of publications, it would certainly have been even more difficult for me to find a publisher for my thriller given the constant flood of new book titles."

And so he wishes the 30 authors, who all introduce themselves with their vita and some with a photo, fun writing and success in publishing their works.

The “Story Bowl” can be ordered as a paperback wherever books are sold (ISBN 978-3-7546-5384-5) or via the project's own website.

The eBook will be available shortly.
